Head Coach Wayne Dabney

Middletown, NJ - We are back with another offseason preview for your Garden State Herd football program, led by head coach Wayne Dabney.

The Herd made a huge splash this offseason with the hiring of Trevor Jackson as the new linebackers coach. Jackson who is known as "the best in the business," due to his play as a dominant defensive tackle during his minor league playing days, is excited to be coaching with this program this season. When asked about his role with the program Jackson responded, "I'm excited to be apart a program that loves this game and invest in its players, I'm here to do what do best & thats coach these guys into monsters on the field."

The Herd also picked up coach A.J Clark, who will be coming on staff as a defensive assistant. Clark served this past summer as the New Jersey Sharks defensive line coach, a line that was a dominant force in their 32-6 win over the Brooklyn Seminoles in the LAL championship.

Running Back Corey Wallace

2024 looks to have already shown some adversity for this program with the loss of some key guys from last season. LB Darrien Murphy is out for the season due to having shoulder surgery, DB Darryl Kennedy Jr. May also be missing the season for personal reasons. Offensively league leading rusher Khani Glover is out in the backfield for The Herd as well as all-star guard Kyle Tobias.

Garden State Herd has had an influx of players looking to make the 54 man roster. One noticeable return is LB Luis Oquendo, who was a standout linebacker during his 1st stint with this program.

The Herd does have some key guys returning to continue their prominent roles with this program. Defensive backs DiQuill Neal, Tyree Parrish & Nick Juliano return as the veteran presence in that defensive secondary, while defensive tackles Josue Collazo & Keven Jean look to hold it down as the 2 monsters in the middle.

Both 2x All-Star offensive lineman Heraldo Nolasco III and Chris Coles return to man the front line in 2024 with QB Stephen Panasuk looking healthy under center. Some key new comers have been looking extremely good in camp so far! WR Willie Gross (Neptune HS) and Dashown Waller (Rowan University) look to be excellent additions to go along with returning receivers Mike Effienger, Jamil Rivera & Tristan Weathers.

As we continue to watch this football program each week, we will be keeping an eye out for anyone that looks to be a strong part of this program. For more information be sure to Visit The Herd at
